Biblical Counselor I

Jeremy and his wife Jessica have been married for over 22 years and have 4 boys whose ages span from 21 to 10. Jeremy grew up in the Lutheran church and was in church every time the doors were open. Jeremy went through all the processes of infant baptism and confirmation but then in his first year of college completely strayed away from the faith, seeing himself as an enemy of the cross of Christ. After an alcohol-induced near death experience, a severely broken relationship, pride-filled living, and a transformative encounter with Christ that left him speechless and helpless to save himself, Jeremy was saved, baptized, and called to ministry in one fell swoop – much like the Apostle Paul.

Jeremy graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2004, serving churches in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida, and Texas for 15 years. As pastor, minister of education, adjunct professor, and youth pastor, Jeremy has counseled everyone from married couples to wayward teenagers to people struggling after a suicide loss. Jeremy’s own life and ministry journey has had its fill of suffering, heartache, and pain, which God used to call Jeremy out of the church and into ministry as a hospice chaplain. In his 4 years of being a chaplain, Jeremy has walked with over 250 different patients and their families on their hospice and grief journeys, pointing them to the hope that is in Christ. In 2020 Jeremy added to his resume a Master of Theology and Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling, both also from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In December 2023 Jeremy became a Board-Certified Chaplain with Clinical Pastoral Education International. Jeremy is now a member of Rush Creek Church in Arlington, TX, where he serves and teaches in the grief and recovery care ministries.
